Atomic's NBA Tuesday Best Bet: Lakers @ Pelicans - 3/14

Anthony Davis Revenge Game? Atomic's got the pick for Tuesday's NBA action as the Lakers visit the Pelicans!

Anthony Davis has hit this line in his last 15/24 games when he has recorded 31 or more minutes & as the Lakers are fighting to make the play - in & this should be a close spread I see no reason he doesn't get 31 or more minutes tonight. He has hit this in his last 2 out of 2 games against the Pelicans & the Pelicans are ranked #8 best Defensive Rating in NBA but allow the #16 most PITP (Points in the Paint) & that is because their center Jonas Valančiūnas is in the Bottom 2 Percentile on defense which would put him as the #2 WORST defensive center by that metric. The Pelicans are allowing the #4 most points per game to centers over the L30D - Compared to their averages (+1.92) & the #7 most rebounds per game in the L30D (+1.07) so this is just a good matchup for him against a bottom 3 defensive big in the NBA. We also always have the narrative of course as the Pelicans traded him & it got ugly over their I am not a narrative guy but he obviously is extra fired up & circles the Pelicans on the calendar after dropping their last game they need this one badly & Anthony Davis will need to be a factor for that to happen. The Pelicans also have a ton of good defensive guards to limit D'Angelo Russell on offense a bit which would hopefully lead to Davis getting more touches. This is just a good matchup with a high - hit rate which is the two main things I look for when factoring a prop if Davis is aggressive we will cash this its all in his hands as he has the matchup to attack.
