Devin Booker has averaged 36 PPG (37,35,36) W/ Kevin Durant as he is now getting teams #2 best defenders instead of #1 & we all know the Timberwolves best defender is Jaden McDaniels on the perimeter he will obviously be forced to guard Kevin Durant this will leave Anthony Edwards who is still a decent defender on Booker however, with Durant’s minutes also being unclear Booker could still see some insane USG. Gobert is a cone on the perimeter so normally he is just tasked to play drop coverage which works perfectly for someone like Devin Booker who lives in the mid - range which is the shot Gobert gives up the most in drop coverage this is a perfect recipe for success for Booker especially with Edwards an inferior defender compared to JMAC on him. Booker had 32 last game vs the Wolves with JMAC on him and now will just get a better matchup than before also with Ayton having a tougher matchup with Gobert & being a screen and roll man when KD returns just helps Bookers usage stay solid.
The Timberwolves have surprisingly been allowing the #1 post PPG to #1 and #2 options this could be because of their drop coverage preventing assists and other people scoring it really forces you to be a scorer and we know scoring is Bookers favorite thing to do Chris Paul will have a very underrated defender in Conley pestering him as well so it’s not like he has an amazing matchup he will be attacking either the best matchup is really Bookers and with the defensive pressure KD creates we have seen Booker eat from it and consistently average 35+ all we need is 28 in a perfect matchup for him as long as he is aggressive he will come through.
