All win streaks have to come to an end at some point and the Boston Celtics are a prime example of that. The best team in the NBA led by as many as 22 points in their last game against the Cavaliers, but a 4th quarter meltdown ended an 11-game win streak as they fell 105-104 on the road. During the run the Cs broke all kinds of records, but for some reason they just stopped executing down the stretch. To make matters worse, the Cavs were also playing without their best player Donovan Mitchell. Today is a new day though, the Celtics will look to bounce back against the team that gave them their first home loss of the season. Boston is 6-2 SU in the last 8 meetings, they’ve also covered the spread 6 times in the last 9 head-to-head.
Similarly to the Celtics, the Nuggets were also on a roll before their previous game which they lost in OT to the Phoenix Suns 117-107. Nikola Jokic and co. were down by as many as 22 points in the loss, despite entering the game as 8.5-point favorites and the Suns being without their 2nd best player Devin Booker. The loss ended a 6-game win streak, but the Nuggets will feel confident ahead of tonight’s game as they’ve beaten the Celtics 13 times in the last 19 meetings at Ball Arena. A lot of analysts are saying this could very well end up being the match-up in the NBA finals this summer, which only adds to the intensity of tonight’s game. Denver enters the contest pretty much in top shape health wise, this will be a proper test for a team that’s looking to climb up the leaderboard in the West.
