Two of the preseason favorites to win the NBA title meet up in Milwaukee tonight as the Nuggets try to sweep the regular season series from the Bucks. Tonight’s game ends a mini 3-game road trip for the reigning champs, they just lost at Sacramento 135-106, it’s worth pointing out that they were playing on a 2nd night of a back-to-back which is the sole reason why they lost by 29 points. This is a solid bounce back opportunity, Denver has enjoyed a lot of success in recent meetings winning 12 of the last 18 and also covering the spread in 6 of their last 7 visits to Fiserv Forum. After missing the game against the Kings, Michael Porter Jr. is expected back in the line-up following a minor issue with his knee.
Wins have been rare to come by for the Bucks ever since they hired new head coach Doc Rivers. After a 3-game losing streak, they were finally able to beat the Charlotte Hornets 120-84 on Friday, finally displaying a solid performance on the defensive end. Obviously, using the Hornets as a measuring stick would be a mistake, but signs of improvement are definitely there compared to earlier in the season when the Bucks were giving up 120+ points against similar teams. This team still has a long way to go in terms of settling to life under their new head coach. Khris Middleton has been ruled out after his ankle injury against the Suns once again, while Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo are both game time decisions. The Bucks are just 2-5 SU in their last 7 games and have covered only 5 times in 20 games overall.
