Nikola Jokic once again made history in Game 5 scoring 40 points and dishing out 13 assists, without recording a single turnover. He became the first center to do so since the 1960s, the Minnesota Timberwolves are in trouble. This will be Jokic’s 15th career closeout game, so far he’s won 9 of them while averaging 30.2 points per game. With 3 wins on the bounce in this series, Denver has now gone 10-5 SU in the last 15 meetings with the Timberwolves and I am convinced they have this team figured out. Jamal Murray’s calf injury has seemingly gone away, that is a good sign not only in tonight’s potential series clincher, but also for the rest of the postseason. With the Mavericks vs Thunder series potentially going to a 7th game, the Nuggets would be wise to take care of business tonight and get a few extra days of rest.
It's all about surviving here for the Minnesota Timberwolves, who haven’t been themselves ever since those opening two games they won in Denver. They’ll be trying to win their first home game of the series, at Target Center they’ve been really solid this year recording 32 wins and just 13 losses. However, it all depends on Mike Conley who missed Game 5 with an Achilles injury. He is the veteran point guard leader on this team, young players like Anthony Edwards really benefit from his guidance. Speaking of Ant Man, he had his lowest point total of the series in Game 5, as the Nuggets completely shut him down. A bounce back game could be on the cards and let’s face it, if that doesn’t happen the Timberwolves stand no chance
