Revenge will be on the minds of the Warriors players tonight as they take on the San Antonio Spurs in the 2nd game of a home and home series between the two teams. The Spurs just won this match-up two days ago at Chase Center 126-123, mainly because Golden State was without their best player Stephen Curry. Despite the loss there were some positives to take away for head coach Steve Kerr who got 27 points off the bench from Klay Thompson and 26 from the up and coming Jonathan Kuminga. Curry will remain out for one more game with his ankle injury, but with enough time to prepare for a gameplan without his best player, I think Kerr will figure out how to beat the Spurs here. The Warriors are 5-1 SU in the last 6 meetings and have won in 4 of 5 visits to the Frost Bank Center.
Saturdayβs home win was a rare one for the Spurs who are just 7-21 SU at home this season. Similarly to the Warriors, they too were without their best player Victor Wembanyama due to an ankle injury, his status has been upgraded to probable here so he is expected to play. Thatβs a big boost for the interior of San Antonio, however that doesnβt guarantee them a win here. This team has won just 4 of their last 18 games, I find it hard to believe they can shoot over 51% from both the field and three-point land in back-to-back games against the same opponent. As underdogs the Spurs have won just 10 of 59 games this year, the spread is at 4.5 points coming into tonightβs game.
