It’s hard to tell which Warriors team is going to show up any given game. Game 1 looked like the 2016 Warriors all over again, with Steph hitting some ridiculous shots and deeper scoring than any other team can manage. But the core can show their age at times. Steph hasn’t been the MVP version of himself in a while and Klay looks like he’s still adjusting to NBA pace sometimes.
The Mavs definitely showed some fatigue coming off their Game 7 in Phoenix and especially the role players have more in them than what showed on Wednesday. I think they’ll come out strong tonight and control the pace of the game, which naturally will lead to less scoring. The Mavs are very comfortable with Luka taking his time at the point. The Warriors are always liable to push the gear to the old Warriors but they don’t do it every game anymore and this is shaping up to be a bounce back.
