At this point in the season, the Celtics getting a plus spread is too good to resist. Of course there’s a reason for that spread, Jayson Tatum and Al Horford are both day-to-day (likely to miss), and Robert Williams is out. The Raptors will be missing Gary Trent Jr. and potentially Fred VanVleet although initial indications are that Fred will play. They have been cautious with him this year though so don’t be surprised if he sits. Either way, Jaylen Brown is more than capable of carrying the Celtics without Tatum. The team defense has been unstoppable and they have a deep roster to support the missing starters. The Raptors have struggled offensively since the all-star break without Gary Trent Jr. and if VanVleet is missing as well, this moves up to a pick of the month.

Chicago Bulls (43-31) @ New York Knicks (33-42)
Speaking of teams who have struggled recently, the Bulls are in a tailspin, losing 10 of their last 14 and are at serious risk of falling into a play-in game. The Knicks currently sit outside the top 10 but with a sliver of hope of making the playoffs after winning 3 in a row. Matchup-wise, these two teams have been tight all year. All 3 games were played at close to full strength for both teams and were all decided by 6 or fewer points. The Knicks can defend well at every position and have solid depth in the rotation. Coming off a successful road trip, the Knicks should have a good chance to win with the home crowd, but I’m confident this one will stay close.
