Rudy Gobert’s absence will continue to a fourth straight game tonight in Minneapolis. In those past 3 games without him, the Jazz haven’t been able to get a win. The Suns (twice) and the Grizzlies are tough opponents but it’s clear they are missing Gobert. But even before Gobert went out, the Jazz have struggled away from home, losing 5 of the 6 away games BEFORE his injury. Minnesota is pretty close to full strength and if DeAngelo Russell plays, they should have no problem securing a win at home tonight.
Even if he stays out, I trust them to get the job done.
The Cavs are one of the best (2 nd best technically) covering teams in the NBA, covering the spread in 64% of their games thus far. It’s pretty clear they are outperforming expectations this year, due to some breakout performances from Darius Garland and rookie of the year hopeful Evan Mobley. But has Vegas caught up to them? 8 points is a heavy spread, especially on the road, but the matchups do not look good for Detroit. Cade Cunningham will have a size advantage over Garland but other than that, the Pistons don’t have the length to keep up with the combination of Mobley and Allen.
Take the red hot Cavs to cover on the road agains an inferior team.
