The first placed team in the Pacific Division takes on the last placed team as the Clippers travel to San Francisco for a date with the Golden State Warriors. Tonight’s game concludes a 4-game regular season series, LA has an opportunity to clinch it as they lead 2-1 after 3 games played. All 3 of those games were very close and were decided by an average of just 5 points, so it promises to be another intriguing match-up. Coming back home from that long road trip hasn’t been a pleasant experience so far, the Clippers are just 1-2 SU in their last 3 games with double-digit losses to the Timberwolves and Pelicans. Their only win came against the Detroit Pistons, but even in that game they failed to cover the spread. This team could definitely use a break to stabilize themselves a bit, Kawhi Leonard has already announced he will miss tonight’s game due to a shoulder injury.
Golden State doesn’t have the luxury of being able to sit it’s best players on a nightly basis, they’re still battling to secure a playoff spot at 26-25 SU. Right now they’ve won 5 games in a row and 8 of 11. Two of those three losses were by a single point and the other one they lost in OT despite getting 60 points from Curry. This team has woken up just before the all-star break, this will be their first game of a back-to-back scenario as they head to Utah tomorrow night. Stephen Curry has been on a roll, averaging 33.1 points per game on 52.2% over his last 10 outings, but tonight’s game will be a big test even for him as LA has held him to just 21.7 points per game in the 3 meetings so far. Golden State is on a 6-game home win streak vs the Clippers and has covered in 4 of 5 at Chase Center.
