Two weeks ago the Denver Nuggets were able to beat the Miami Heat 103-97 at Ball Arena. Tonight, they conclude their regular season series with a clash at the Kaseya Center in South Beach as the Heat try to get revenge. Since that game, the Nuggets have lost only once which was their only defeat in the last 10 games played. After last night’s OKC Thunder loss to Indiana, the Nuggets are now tied for the number 1 spot in the West and with a win tonight they get sole possession of home court advantage until the Finals. This match-up has been dominated by the Nuggets for quite some time now, they’re 11-1 SU in the last 12 meetings, while also covering the spread in 7 of the last 10. They’re also a perfect 6-0 ATS in their last 6 visits to Miami.
There’s no way around it, Miami had a stinker in their last game against the Washington Wizards as they lost 110-108 despite entering the game as 11.5 point favorites. With the loss they’re now 8th in the East, just a week or so ago they were 4th which just shows you how tight the situation is right now. The Heat are in a weird spot right now, the 9th placed Bulls are 4.5 games back so they can pretty much control their own destiny and decide which match-up they like best for the 1st Round of the playoffs. Beating the defending champions could bring back a bit of optimism to a team that’s underperformed since the break.
