Damian Lillard came back home with two trophies from this weekend’s All-Star break in Indianapolis. Dame first won the three-point contest on Saturday and then proceeded to lead the East to a huge win on Sunday, while also earning the ASG MVP trophy. That’s all well and good, but now it’s time to get back to serious business as the Bucks try to salvage what’s left of the regular season in hopes of finishing 2nd in the East. Tonight’s game against Minnesota is a favorable one, the Bucks have won 14 of the last 19 meetings and are 13-7 ATS in the last 20 head-to-head. Health wise they’re doing pretty good right now, apart from Khris Middleton who is still out with a ankle injury. The Timberwolves won the first meeting of the season 129-105 some two weeks ago, so there is also the revenge factor for Giannis Antetokounmpo and co. here.
Despite having the best record in the West, you won’t find many NBA analysts that are picking the Timberwolves to go as far as the NBA finals this season. That’s primarily due to their playing style of having two bigs (Rudy Gobert and Karl-Anthony Towns) playing huge minutes together. It’s been proven on many occasions that come playoff time that simply will not work, however the Timberwolves are hoping to prove us all wrong. KAT had a monster output in Sunday’s ASG with 50 points, but it didn’t make much of a difference as his team lost by 25 points. Anthony Edwards will be motivated to continue ascending as a player, he has been one of the most talked players in the NBA this season. Minnesota went into the break with a 5-1 ATS/SU record in their last 6 games and a 15-5 SU record in their last 20 at Target Center.
