It’s been a tough month of March so far for the Timberwolves who have dropped down to 3rd in the standings. The injury to Karl-Anthony Towns is a major loss for a team that’s already been questioned on the offensive end. Without KAT they’re lacking a secondary scorer behind Anthony Edwards, plus their spacing has just been awful. They come into tonight’s game after back-to-back losses at Cleveland and the Lakers. Rudy Gobert didn’t play in the loss to LA due to a hamstring injury, that’s the number one reason why Minnesota allowed 120 points in the loss. He’s questionable to play here, I’m doubtful the Timberwolves can get anything out of tonight’s game without him. They do have a solid track record in games against the Clippers going 4-1 ATS/SU in the last 5 meetings.
The Clippers rested two of their best players on Sunday which resulted in a 124-117 loss to the Bucks. Both Kawhi Leonard and Paul George are expected back here, hence why the oddsmakers are favoring the Clippers by 6.5 points. LA won a tight one the last time they played Minnesota less than 10 days ago, getting a win here not only inches them closer to the 3rd seed but also prevents Minnesota from winning the tie-breaker. One advantage the Clippers will look to rely on here is their three-point shooting. Unlike the Timberwolves, this team has scored double figure threes in 7 straight games. In their last 3 games Minnesota is allowing almost 37% shooting by opponents from deep.
