Melton has taken over and helped fill the gap left after Maxey went down to injury and you can really see it in the month of December. He is averaging 9 shots from 3 per game, has gone over 2.5 in 5 of the 6 games, and is shooting above 42% from 3. He will be facing the Pistons who are on a back to back and continue to give up a minimum of 122ppg in the last 5(minimal defense). They're middle of the road when it comes to 3s given up to SGs but this is all about the volume.

He is starting to look like his old self the last 3 games hitting 2/3. He is being more aggressive creating/shooting his shot after a 20+ day slump. This for me is about matchup, previous history, and the uptick in recent scoring. The Lakers give up the second most points to PGs in the NBA. The total is set for 241(highest in the slate) and the Lakers are 2nd in pace of play while the Kings are 5th so plenty of points/opportunities to get the points needed. Looking over previous matchups vs the Lakers, he has hit 4 out of 5 times(1 time already this year) dating back to the start of 2021 season. He has great history vs Pat Bev as well.
