It was much tougher than expected, but the OKC Thunder pulled out an important home win against the Portland Trail Blazers last night 111-109. SGA once again led the charge with 33 points, however Jalen Williams was the hero as he hit the jumper to put OKC in front for good with just 2 seconds to go. It’s a quick turnaround after the win for the young Thunder squad, they’re 4-2 SU in 6 games with no rest this season. This will be their first game of a mini 3-game road trip, you always want to start off a road trip with momentum so I think they’ll take this game more seriously than they usually would. The first meeting against San Antonio was no contest as the Thunder came out 123-87 winners, they’ve beaten this team 4 times in the last 5 meetings and have covered the spread in each of those games.
San Antonio wrapped up a 5-game road trip with a 133-123 loss in Philadelphia. They couldn’t do much against Joel Embiid who torched them for an NBA season high 70 points, thankfully the Thunder don’t have such a dominant force down low. Chet Holmgren is nowhere near as polished as Embiid, so I think Victor Wembanyama can follow up his 33 point performance in the loss to Philadelphia with another solid output here. However, I’m not expecting much from the Spurs as a team as they’ve been just awful at home this year. A just 3-16 SU at Frost Bank Center they’re one of the worst teams in the league, even their ATS record is at just 9-10 which isn’t exactly confidence inspiring if you’re a bettor here.
