This current road trip that the 76ers are on has caused quite a lot of controversy. Just last night the Sixers once again rested all 3 of their best players, resulting in a embarrassing 130-104 loss at the hands of one of the worst teams in the NBA Portland. They head into Chase Center tonight for a date with the Warriors, hoping to stop a 3-game slide. It’ll be interesting to see if Maxey, Embiid and Harris all recover since it’s a TV game, there are reports of the league already looking into potentially fining the Sixers for load management. My guess is that all 3 of those players will play here which significantly increases the 76ers chances of winning. Getting a road win vs the Warriors has been tough for this team, in their last 11 visits the Sixers are just 2-9 SU, while overall in the last 15 meetings they’ve accumulated just 5 wins total.
Stephen Curry and his Warriors are desperate for a win, following back-to-back losses at the hands of the Kings and Lakers. Over the weekend we saw them lose a double OT thriller against the Lakers 145-144, despite getting 46 points from Curry. The last couple of weeks have put a huge dent into the Warriors’ playoff hopes with just 1 win over their last 5 games but knowing the mentality of this team they’re not ready to give up just yet. They are 2.5 games out of the play-in tournament right now, with still over a week left until the trade deadline they still have an opportunity to make a move to turn things around. Shooting the ball hasn’t been a problem for this team, they’ve scored 23, 19 and 16 threes in their last 3 games, if they maintain that type of accuracy here they’ll be fine.
