The Suns have had an extra day of rest in between games 1 and 2, that’ll do them good following a tough 25 point loss in the series opener. Kevin Durant stood out with 31 points in Saturday’s game, but even he ended the game with a -20 which just shows how poorly the Suns played as a team. Frank Vogel will have to make the necessary adjustments for Tuesday’s game, the number one priority is to get Devin Booker going. He had just 18 points on a mediocre 5-for-16 from the field, far below what the expectations were from him. Grayson Allen’s injury is also a concern, he attempted just 3 three-pointers in Game 1 before leaving the game with a sprained ankle. We are yet to see a road team win a game in these Playoffs, will the Suns become the first?
A lot of that depends on the approach of the Timberwolves here. Anthony Edwards had his moment in Game 1 where he exploded for 33 points and 9 rebounds, going at Kevin Durant possession after possession. Whether or not that is sustainable in the long run remains to be seen, but Edwards appears to be destined for stardom. As a team Minnesota shot 50% in that win on Saturday, apart from Mike Conley who went just 2-for-12 from the field, pretty much everyone contributed. It was their 5th win in 6 home games, expectations are high for Tuesday’s game as well. They’re 3.5 point favorites to win, which is almost identical to Saturday’s game when the spread was 2.5 points. However, they will have to be on high alert here as the Suns have already won once at Target Center this season.
