This is certainly not my first article targeting the Rockets, and won’t be my last. Hou allows the most points per game, 5th most 3s, worst field goal percentage against, dead last in defensive efficiency, and play at the fastest paced. If they aren’t blown out they are a bettors dream. With all of that in mind, I think Terrance Mann has some solid value today.
When the Clips traded Eric Bledsoe, Mann was on of the key guys that benefitted. That is especially the case currently with Norman Powell (who they traded Bledose for) out. In 7 games since the trade, Mann has averaged 16.3 points and that includes a brutal 2 point outing. Of course we can’t just ignore a game that bad, but I do take some comfort in the fact that it was against the Suns. Excluding the Suns game he has 13+ in all 6 games and 19+ in 4 of those. I think with all of the stats listed about Houston’s Swiss cheese defense, it gives us a really nice ladder opportunity.
I’m also encouraged that Mann scored 20 against the Rockets in 28 min right before the all star break. If this game is any closer than that one I think we can expect to see Mann get 35 minutes. I’m going to play him over 13.5 points and for 20+ points.
