Today I will write my first rebound prop article. I do not love rebounding props, but I dug deep on this one and feel good about it. Gonna be focusing on a 7 footer with a magnificent afro today. 

Some of you may have guessed, we are looking into Jarrett Allen’s rebound prop. I will start with his recent trend first. Jarrett has hit this in 6 of his last 10 and has averaged 11.8 in that span. Jarrett has faced the Knicks one time this season and pulled down 17 rebounds in that game. That night he had 6 offensive rebounds which will be tough to replicate against the Knicks, but I love that he would’ve cleared this line off defensive rebounds alone. 

Let's dig a bit deeper. Lauri Markkanen has been announced out for tonight's game. While Lauri is not the strongest rebounder, it is one less 7 footer to compete with. Lauri sees 9.8 rebound chances a game, and while that does not mean another 10 potential rebounds will fall towards Jarrett, it should offer him a few more chances. In other injury news, Mitchell Robinson left yesterday's game with an ankle injury; his status is not clear for tonight but it would be an added plus if he does not play. Nerlens Noel would likely draw the start. Nerlens is not as strong a rebounder as Mitchell as he only pulls down 50.7% of his rebound chances, an 8.5% deficit to Mitchell Robinson. Back to Jarrett, of the players who average 10+ rebounds a game, he has the highest contested rebound rate, so we know he is a tough rebounder. One last thing I like to consider for Centers is who they are covering. If a Center is covering a stretch 5 I may hesitate on their rebounding prop. However no matter who the Knicks start, they will sit below the hoop all night as will Allen leading to better rebounding positions. I am loving the Fro to dominate the glass tonight.
