A star has been born in Cleveland. Darius Garland was the 5th pick in the 2019 draft. At the time it seemed like an odd fit beside another small guard, Collin Sexton. Fast forward to now, Sexton has been out most of the year, and Darius has blossomed into an all star. Garland has especially stepped up lately since the injury to Jarrett Allen. Tonight looks like a good spot to keep it rolling for Cleveland’s young star.
Garland is playing with the ultimate green light right now. He is playing 38 min a game over his last 10 and averaging 20.4 field goal attempts. In that same span he has hit his over in 8 of the last 10 and is averaging 26.9 points. He is up to 27.2 in his last 5 (the span since Jarrett Allen got hurt). Garland shot poorly vs a tough Philly defense last game and still managed 22 points. Denver is a much easier matchup than Philly. Over the last 30 days, they are allowing the third most points per game to PG. I love this spot for Darius to bounce back and light it up tonight.
