The Sacramento Kings exercised some demons with Tuesday’s play-in game win over the Golden State Warriors. They were finally able to beat the team that eliminated them from the postseason last year and dominated them for quite some time. They have an opportunity to do something similar on Friday as they take on a Pelicans team that has beaten them in all 5 regular season meetings this year. To make things worse, the Kings were favored by the oddsmakers in all 5 of those games, which is the case once again on Friday. Sacramento goes into the game as a 1.5 point favorite, in the favorites role this season they won 34 of 54 games. The Kings are also 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games overall and also have a record of 10 wins in their last 14 Friday games.
We’re witnessing the New Orleans Pelicans crumbling in real time and it’s not a pleasant thing to watch. Just 48 hours after their regular season finale loss to the LA Lakers, they suffered yet another defeat against the same team. As a result their season now hangs by a thread and they’ll be without their best player Zion Williamson. In one of the best games of his career, Zion dominated the Lakers with 40 points, but he suffered a calf injury with just a couple of minutes to go and the team went ice cold without him. He’ll be re-evaluated in a couple of weeks, which means he’s missing Friday’s game and potentially a couple of first round games, if the Pels get there. New Orleans is 0-6 ATS in their last 6 home games and just 3-7 ATS in their last 10 overall.
