@AustinsProps' NFL Sunday: 49ers @ Rams Prediction & Pick - 10/30

This matchup I’m super excited for as it has huge complications on division seedings. It’s truly a must win for both teams which is why I’m expecting a highly competitive matchup.

The Rams are sitting 3-3 in second place in the NFC West while the Niners are 3-4 in 3rd place. This division is so tight with both teams desperately needing to come out with the win. That being said I think today I have the 49ers winning this game outright. After a brutal loss to the Chiefs, the Niners defense has to bounce back as they got outplayed. The offense looked efficient and I expect that to continue this week.

Another aspect this comes down to is coaching. Kyle Shannahan mentored Sean McVay years prior and has had a huge influence on him. He also is 7-4 all time when he has faced McVay. This speaks volume as he clearly has had a large amount of success with McVay as the opposition. Both coaches are extremely respected, however with Shannahan’s pedigree it’s hard not to favor him this week.

San Fran has the advantage with there defense. This is a really solid unit with tons of big playmakers on that side of the ball. They’ve also done well in the past with game planning against the Rams and today should be no different. The number one priority will to be to make someone other than Cooper Kupp beat you. The Rams have shown they lack weapons this season, and it feels like in order for them to score it’s always long challenging drives. All the lines point at San Fran winning this football game today!
