The Baltimore Ravens are seen by many pundits as a Super Bowl contender, thanks to a talented roster headlined by dual threat quarterback Lamar Jackson and new addition DeAndre Hopkins, a five-time Pro Bowler, at receiver.
Hopkins has been slowly recovering from a knee injury, which may limit his game time. But he’s +450 for an “anytime” touchdown, so he’s something to ponder when deciding on a player prop.
Running back Derrick Henry is the bell cow at running back for the Ravens. He’s one of the most feared backs in the league when he gets into open space and builds momentum with his 6’3”, 247-pound frame.
While he’ll undoubtedly be keyed on, he’s impossible to shut down, and it’s tempting to see him at -200 to go over 70 yards. He had more than 1,900 yards last year and averaged 5.9 per carry.
On defense, the Ravens have added first-round draft pick and cornerback Nate Wiggins to join defensive line holdovers Nnamdi Madubuike and Travis Jones and formidable linebacker Roquan Smith.
The Buffalo Bills are also hoping this is their year to finally get over the playoffs hump and gain entry to the Super Bowl.
Buffalo quarterback Josh Allen is an MVP candidate, and can shake up a game with his passes or his running. He’s a neat -120 to score anytime, a very tempting player prop, while star running back James Cook is an even better bet at -110 to score anytime.
Perennial Pro Bowler Joey Bosa has been added to the Bills to improve the pass rush (he’s +235 to get a sack), and the team drafted cornerback Maxwell Hairston in the first round to bolster the secondary.
