I will be honest. This game is between 2 horrible teams and that is what makes betting on these games so exciting. Both of these teams are 1-3 heading into this week 5 matchup. The Patriots are most likely without Mac Jones and will have to rely on rookie QB Bailey Zappe who made his debut last week and almost pulled off an upset win vs. Green Bay.

This is more of a bet against the Lions than it is on New England, but nonetheless we will target the Lion’s defense. The Lions currently rank 24th in pass defense and 32nd in run defense through 4 weeks. On the other side of the ball, the Patriots actually have the best ranked run offense in the league at the moment.

I think Belichick sticks to the ground and pound and runs it down the Lion’s throats and scores with ease. The Lions allow the 7th most rushing yards to RB’s and allow the most touchdowns in the league to RB’s. All Zappe has to do is take care of the ball and they should have no problem moving the ball.
