Hey everyone! Happy Thursday! I will keep this brief(ish)...
The 9-4 49ers travel to Seattle to face off vs the 7-6 Seahawks in a NFC West matchup. These are 2 teams currently headed in opposite directions. The Seahawks have lost 3 of their last 4 games, 2 of those being at home. Meanwhile the 49ers have won 6 straight games after a shaky start to the season. I have watched and bet on the Seahawks the last 2 weeks going 1-1 on those bets. What I have seen in that span is a defense that gave up 223 yards on the ground to the Panthers last week, ranking (30th in the NFL). Not exactly the category you want to struggle in before facing CMC and the 4th ranked rushing attack.
"Mr Irrelevant" Brock Prudy is their starting QB and is doing well managing the game and limiting turnovers. They will be without Star WR Deebo Samuel, a big blow for the offense but fortunately for them they have talent all over the place including George Kittle who has a good matchup to take advantage of. The Seahawks offense/Geno Smith's outstanding season has been the only reason they have won/stayed in games. Geno has already thrown for over 3,400 yards and 25TDs and 8 ints on a 71% completion rate but 4 of those 8 ints came from the last 3 weeks on really poor decisions forcing the ball in double and triple coverage. They will be getting Rookie RB Kenneth Walker III but unfortunately for them they have to face a defense that will be their hardest challenge yet. The 49ers defense is #1 in Total YPG, Rushing YPG, Opp pts per game, and top 10 or better in every other Category. They are loaded at every level and it's impressive to watch.
Random Fun Fact for today: Every Seahawks loss has been by 4+ and every 49ers win this season has been by 4+.
I know there's a lot of talk about injuries and this being a trap game but I can now get a better price of -3 compared to -3.5 earlier in the week which for me is a positive and something I'm excited about. The 49ers are a better team that plays into the weaknesses of the Seahawks. I see another dominant performance and win for the 49ers similar to week 2 when they won 27-7.
