Lightning Team Total u2.5 +120
Igor’s better. No hate to Andre Vasilevskiy who might be the second best Goalie in the league, but the New York crowd during Game 1 were right when they starting chanting in support of the red hot Igor Shesterkin. Since the start of the Carolina series, the Rangers haven’t once given up more than 2 goals. That’s 8 games in a row of 2 or fewer goals, including a shutout and four 1 goal games.
The elite New York defense deserves plenty of credit as well, but there’s nothing more demoralizing than coming up against top tier goalie on a tear. Don’t get me wrong, the Lightning are capable of scoring, but it’s not in their DNA. They want to win defensive battles. They’re averaging 3.2 goals in the playoffs against much worse opponents, and only 2.6 when on the road. The Rangers have the best home ice advantage going so don’t be surprised if the Lightning can’t sniff the goal until late in the game.
