            FlashPicks Jamaica vs Venezuela Prediction

For this game, we expect Venezuela to record another victory against a Jamaica team who are already knocked out of the tournament. There isn’t expected to be an abundance of goals in this fixture, with Venezuela averaging 1.5 goals over two games – both of their victories in this tournament have been by a single goal.

Salomon Rondon will be the standout player for Venezuela. Rondon has featured in both of Venezuela’s Copa America games thus far and has scored once with an xG of 1.32 from the two games played. Rondon has four goals in his last five games and assisted Venezuela’s opener against Ecuador.

Jamaica failed to score in their opening game against Mexico and lost by a two-goal scoreline against Ecuador. For this reason and as stated above, we are predicting Venezuela to record a 2-0 victory over Jamaica and for Salomon Rondon to be on the scoresheet.

            Jamaica 0-2 Venezuela

Copa America: Jamaica vs Venezuela Prediction, Preview & Betting Picks

The final game in Group B of the Copa America features two teams who already know their fate in the competition. Group leaders Venezuela takes on Jamaica who are already eliminated from the competition.

Jamaica’s third Copa America appearance has resulted in a disappointing campaign for the Reggae Boyz. After two games, Jamaica already sees their tournament has ended abruptly, following defeats against Mexico and Ecuador.

Jamaica started their campaign with a 1-0 defeat against Mexico, in which Mexico scored the only goal of the game through Gerardo Arteaga in the 69th minute of that game. Jamaica competed well in the fixture having 13 shots, despite conceding 61% possession during the game.

Heading into their second game against Ecuador, Jamaica would have needed any form of a result to keep their Copa America hopes alive. Unfortunately for the Reggae Boyz, they were thoroughly beaten by a 3-1 scoreline against Ecuador. Jamaica’s Kasey Palmer had the misfortune of scoring an own goal before Kendry Paez doubled the Ecuadorian lead just before half-time. West Ham striker Michail Antonio halved the deficit in the 54th minute before a 91st-minute dagger from Alan Minda eliminated Jamaica from the tournament.

Venezuela have produced a great campaign thus far, having given themselves assurance knowing their qualification place is secured. Venezuela’s only jeopardy they have is that they could still finish second in the group and perhaps face a tougher draw in the quarter-final. Venezuela only needs a point to finish as winners of the group.

Venezuela began their campaign with a 2-1 win over ten-man Ecuador. Ecuador took the lead in the 40th minute through a goal from Brighton midfielder Jeremy Sarimento, despite Enner Valencia receiving a red card 18 minutes prior. Venezuela’s second-half performance was considerably improved as goals from Jhonder Cadiz and Eduard Bello secured the opening-day victory for the group leaders.

In the second game against Mexico, Venezuela found the overall game, conceding a large share of possession – 61% to Venezuela’s 39%. Mexico created 2.88xG, however, despite being second best, Venezuela’s defence stood strong. Venezuela achieved a tackle success rate of 73% and completed 45 clearances. Venezuela’s winner came through Salomon Rondon from the penalty spot as the former Newcastle United striker scored his 42nd goal for the national side.

Jamaica and Venezuela have only met three times in their history, with Jamaica winning once and Venezuela winning the remaining two games. The last meeting between the two sides resulted in a 1-0 win for Venezuela thanks to a goal from Josef Martinez.

Demari Gray featured from the bench in the last game and with Jamaica already eliminated, Gray could start in the wide role in the 3-4-1-2 formation.

            Venezuela Team News

Venezuela have utilised a 4-2-3-1 formation in their first two games of the competition. The formation relies on Salomon Rondon as the vocal point, with Darwin Machis and Yeferson Soteldo providing the width.

            Recent Form

Despite their elimination from the Copa America, Jamaica’s form is relatively good all things considered. Jamaica have won three from their previous five games, with the two losses falling in this tournament. Jamaica’s previous defeat away from the Copa America, was a 3-1 loss in the CONCACAF Nations League against USA.

Jamaica’s two previous victories took place in their World Cup qualifying section, in which the Reggae Boyz are currently undefeated after two games played. In their most recent win, they were made to sweat in a 3-2 win over Panama. Jamaica were three goals up, thanks in large part to a brace from Shameer Nicholson and a goal from Kaheim Dixon. Panama made things interesting with goals from Javid George and Troy Jules.

Jamaica have found goal-scoring relatively straightforward, having scored six goals in their previous five games – averaging 1.1 goals per game. Defensively is where the issues lie, having conceded four goals in their last two games and six goals in five games in general.

Venezuela have chosen the perfect time to restore any form to their team for this tournament. Venezuela have won two out of their last five games, having previously gone five games without a win – including defeats against Colombia and Italy. For a calendar year from June 2022 to June 2023, Venezuela had only lost one game in ten played.

Aside from friendly fixtures, Venezuela are unbeaten in their last seven competitive fixtures, having won four and drawn the remaining three games. Their last competitive defeat was against Colombia in the CONMEBOL World Cup qualifying section.

In their last five competitive games, Venezuela have scored seven goals – averaging 1.4 goals per game and they’ve kept three clean sheets in that time, only conceding twice in five games. Venezuela have conceded on average 0.4 goals per game over their last five competitive games played.
