Both Team to Score (-126)

The last time England and France met in a big tournament was back at the 2012 EUROs in the group stage with the match ended in a 1-1 draw. Since 2000 they’ve played each other 7 times, landing this bet a total of 5 times. The latest meeting happened in 2017 and finished 3-2 in favor of France. Both teams have been lethal at the World Cup so far, France have 9 goals while England is at 12 goals. England have had 8 different goalscorers so far, with Bukayo Saka and Marcus Rashford leading the way with 3 apiece. The French have relied mostly on Mbappé and Giroud to score goals, I’m expecting at least one of them to find the net in this highly contested match. This one ends in a 1-1 or 2-2 draw, with the winner being decided in ET or on penalties.

Antoine Griezmann Anytime Assist (+310)

Even though he doesn’t appear on the scoresheet as often as Mbappé or Giroud, I would argue Griezmann contributes to his team just as much as those two players. Against Poland he set a new record playing in his 71st game in a row for the national team, so barring any injury setbacks we can expect him in the starting XI against England. Since his debut for France back in 2014 he has 34 assists to his name in 114 games played, including 5 in 16 games played at the World Cup. He has one man of the match award to his name in Qatar, for the WC opener against Australia. He assisted the game winning goal to Mbappé in the 2-1 win over Denmark in the 2nd game of the group stage, which was a big moment for France as they clinched the knock-out stage with 1 game left in the group. Griezmann takes all the corners and most of the free kicks for France, in a tight game like this there is a good chance one of those crosses finds a French player in the box and Griezmann gets the assist.

Olivier Giroud to have 1 or more shots on target (-220)

With his goal against Poland, Giroud became the all-time top scorer for France with 52 goals scored in 116 games played, surpassing the legendary Arsenal striker Thierry Henry who had 51. He scores a goal every 0.45 games, France have been using him surprisingly often at this World Cup as he starts up front alongside Mbappé and Dembele on the wings. Playing as a target man isn’t anything new for Giroud, he has been doing it his entire career, so far it’s worked well at the World Cup as he has 3 goals to his name. He is among the leaders on his team in aerial duels won with 1.7 per game, so any cross coming his way will be a threat for the English defense. He also averages 3 shots per game, which is only second to Mbappé. All we need is him to attempt at least one shot on target to land our bet here.
