Netherlands vs USA Same Game Parlay

Neither of these two teams has impressed offensively through 3 games, and now with their tournament lives on the line in this knock-out stage, I think we’ll see an even more defensive minded approach as neither side wants to lose and go home. I was far from impressed by this Netherlands team, they were expected to steamroll through a somewhat softer group, but it looked much harder than it should have been. The US team also struggled in their group, drawing their first two games and beating Iran in the decider by just one goal. The Netherlands do have a better head-to-head record with 4 wins to 1, but none of those games were played at the World Cup. This game has the potential to go to extra time, possibly even penalties, so betting on a draw in the 90 mins is our best bet here.

Gakpo is having a breakout tournament at the World Cup, showing everyone he is one of the most young talented strikers we have in the world of soccer right now. At just 23-years of age he’s become the first player ever to score at least one goal in all 3 group stage matches at the World Cup. After a strong start to his club season at PSV where he bagged 9 goals and assisted 12 times in 14 matches, he’s carried over his form to the biggest stage and the Netherlands have him to thank for advancing to the knock-out stage. He’ll look to continue his streak in the game against the US, I’m curious to see how the Americans handle his pace on Saturday. At 6 ft 4 inches, he will also pose a threat in the air, so the US defense cannot lose sight of him on set pieces. Together with Memphis Depay up front, Gakpo will be a nightmare to hold off, I have him scoring at least one goal in this game.
