Bournemouth
Bournemouth have had a tough run in their last five games, with one win, one draw, and three losses. They began with a 1-1 draw against Newcastle, where Marcus Tavernierβs goal was equalized by Anthony Gordon. A 1-0 loss to West Ham in the EFL Cup followed, with Jarrod Bowen scoring late. Their only win came in dramatic fashion at Everton, overturning a 2-0 deficit with three late goals from Antoine Semenyo, Lewis Cook, and Luis Sinisterra. However, they couldn't build on that momentum, losing 1-0 to Chelsea and most recently 3-0 at Liverpool.
Southampton
Southampton have had a tough start to life back in the Premier League, with one win, two draws, and two losses in their last five games. Their lone victory came in a thrilling 5-3 EFL Cup win against Cardiff. However, league struggles continued with a 3-1 loss at Brentford, followed by a 3-0 defeat at home to Manchester United after Cameron Archer missed a key penalty. In the EFL Cup, they drew 1-1 with Everton but advanced 6-5 on penalties. Most recently, Southampton were denied their first league win as Ipswich equalized in the 95th minute to draw 1-1.
