Everton
Everton have had a rough start to the season, with one win, two losses, and two draws in their last five games. They were denied a first league win in a 1-1 draw with Leicester, despite Iliman Ndiaye giving them an early lead. This came after a penalty shootout defeat to Southampton in the EFL Cup following a 1-1 draw. Prior to that, they suffered back-to-back 3-2 losses, blowing 2-0 leads against both Bournemouth and Aston Villa. Their only win came in the EFL Cup second round, where they comfortably beat Doncaster 3-0.
Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace are unbeaten in their last five games, with two wins and three draws. Their run began with a 4-0 EFL Cup win over Norwich, with Daichi Kamada, Jean-Philippe Mateta (twice), and Ismaila Sarr scoring. Before the international break, they drew 1-1 at Chelsea, with Eberechi Eze's stunning goal cancelling out Nicolas Jackson's opener. After the break, they drew 2-2 with Leicester, with Mateta scoring a stoppage-time penalty to salvage a point. Palace then advanced in the EFL Cup with a 2-1 win over QPR, and most recently held Manchester United to a 0-0 draw at home.
