This game is projected by sportsbooks to have both a large spread and a high total. For fans who like a lot of scoring, this game should be for you. The obvious pick for this game is Arizona but you won’t find much value just betting them on the moneyline. In this one we will look at some other bets that you can place on this game.

For Arizona, they had an impressive season but it was in a weaker than normal PAC 12 Conference. They failed to win the conference tournament though but didn’t have many bad losses all year. This team can definitely blow out lesser teams as well like Long Beach State. Arizona won 11 games by 23 or more points.

Looking at Long Beach State, this team obviously only made it in due to winning one of the worst conferences in the country, the Big West. There’s not many notable wins here for Long Beach State besides beating an-eight win Michigan team and USC who didn’t make the tournament either. The thing they have going for them is they were rarely blown out, which could play into other bets outside of the moneyline.

The spread in this game is a whopping 20.5 points. Long Beach State’s biggest losses on the season were by 21, 16 and then 14, so they’ve only lost by more than 20.5 one time all season. Long Beach State also hasn’t played a team like Arizona but did beat their only other PAC 12 opponent they played this season in USC. This could be a game where they lose by 21+ again though. It looks like they should truly be outmatched by Arizona.

For Arizona, they have covered the spread 64% of the time this year. They also have won by 23 or more in 11 games. Some of those massive blowout wins were against teams way more capable than Long Beach State. Nearly half of Arizona’s wins were by more than 21 points. The bet here should be on Arizona to cover this spread in yet another blowout win on the season to open up the tournament.

This is the highest projected total on Thursday. Arizona has gone over this total in 42% of games and Long Beach State just 17% of the time. More importantly, in the 11 wins that Arinzoa had by 21 or more points, just three of them went over 163.5 points. With a 20.5 point spread, getting a spread around that amount at the end of the game and a total of over 163.5 appears very unlikely.

The bet here is on the under. If Arizona wins by around 20 points, then the final score would have to be about 92-72 or somewhere in that range. If the over was to hit it would seem the game would also be much closer than 20 points.
