Seven vs 10 games are commonly close contests. This one does appear to look one sided on paper though which we will get into. The spread is just one point in favor of Nevada. It’s also a low total in this game that could be a betting opportunity to take advantage of.
Dayton made it in the tournament as a seven seed despite losing in the quarterfinals of the Atlantic 10 tournament. It’s definitely a curious seeding as they haven’t played any ranked teams outside of Houston who they lost to by 14 points. Outside of beating LSU and Northwestern, this team doesn’t have many impressive wins. Their saving grace has been Daron Holmes II who is averaging over 20 points and looks like a future NBA player that could cause Nevada fits.
Nevada are just slight favorites as the lower seed. They also arguably are more deserving of a higher seed than Dayton. Nevada has more total wins, higher quality wins, and is extremely hot winning eight of their last 10 games. If you’re looking for an upset pick, picking Nevada as a 10 over a seven would be a good bet.
