Let’s face it, Kansas owns the Big 12. Some great teams have made a splash recently but Bill Self has won 8 conference championships in his 18 years as coach. More importantly, they’ve won 8 of the 9 championship games they’ve appeared in. Texas Tech is a very streaky team that can get hot but aren’t disciplined enough to get it done in a big game like this. Look for the turnovers, if Texas Tech can keep it under their awful season average of 14 per game, they’ll have a chance. If not, the 2 point spread won’t mean much.

Davidson earned the number one seed by dominating the Atlantic 10 conference. At times they’ve even been ranked in the top 25. The hierarchy in the conference has a strong big 3 with Davidson, VCU and Dayton at the top. There’s a big drop off after that and SLU just doesn’t cut it. They did well to upset St Bonaventure but Davidson won’t be scoring in the 50s like that game and they just don’t have the offense to keep up. Davidson has been here before and should dispense SLU quickly on their way to the championship.
