March Madness 2023 Elite Eight same game parlay

Elite Eight same game parlays

Same-game parlays are a great way to not only increase your betting odds for a single game, but to also get higher payouts. These have become so popular among the sports betting community that you can commonly find deals on sports-betting platforms that will cover your same-game parlay to a certain extent or give you boosted odds. The Elite 8 is a great time to get started or to continue to play these same-game parlays. Looking at a game and coming up with a script will help these bets come to life. Let’s take a look at how we could create a game script for some of the games below.

Florida Atlantic vs Kansas St. -1.5 O/U 144.5

With Kansas St. being just a small favorite to a school that went under the radar the entire season until basically just two days, it is a great place to start when looking at making a same-game parlay bet. A spread of just two points seems dramatically low for Kansas St. against Florida Atlantic. Taking the moneyline on Kansas St. would add a -130 bet to your slip but taking the spread at -1.5 gets you a -110 bet to boost your payout.

From there you want to come up with a script for this game. Now that we have Kansas St. covering the spread in this game we can look at the points total. 144.5 seems a bit high considering FAU has only averaged 68 points in the tournament so far. If Kansas St. wins by three to cover the spread then Kansas St. has to get 74 and FAU 71. We can add the under of 144.5 points for our second leg of this parlay at -120.

For the final leg of this parlay (or third leg if you want to do an even larger parlay) we can add to the script of this game we built. Taking FAU to score under 71 points is a positive payout at +105 to add to our parlay. This will play into our first two picks of Kansas St. covering the two-point spread and the under of 144.5 if we get a final score such as Kansas St. 73, FAU 70.

UConn vs Gonzaga +2 O/U 153.5

Now that we can understand how to come up with a game script like we did for FAU vs KSU above for a same-game parlay, we can do the same for the Gonzaga game. In the Sweet 16 we successfully predicted that Gonzaga would win as underdogs vs UCLA and against UConn, it feels like a good place to start again. We’re starting here with the Gonzaga moneyline at +105.

This points total seems really high at 153.5 for this game. It is by far one of the highest that we have seen this entire tournament. Gonzaga led the nation in points per game though with 87 this year. So far in the tournament they haven’t scored as much but still managed 79 against UCLA when their implied total for that game was just 72 points. To get to 154 and for Gonzaga to win, they would need at least 78 points. That seems doable and adding the over of 153.5 is actually favorable for bettors at -115 compared to the under.

To complete this parlay and game script we can look to Gonzaga on their projected-points total. Taking them to score 78 points adds a big boost at +130 to this same game parlay. This is a three-leg parlay with a massive payout.

San Diego St. vs Creighton -1.5 O/U 133.5

This game is expected to be low scoring and close with the two lines we have above of just a one-point spread and a 133.5 total. It could play perfectly into a same-game parlay that takes the higher point total.

To start on same-game parlays it makes sense to pick a moneyline or spread bet. With such a small spread, taking a moneyline is probably the best bet. San Diego State has the more impressive wins in the tournament and they get slightly better odds on the moneyline at +105.

The over is the clear bet here to take, although it could be a trap. Creightotn is coming off an 85 and 86-point game and San Diego St. just scored 75 and then 71 to beat Alabama. The over seems like a solid bet to add to this parlay but maybe the oddsmakers know something we don’t.

Finish this bet out by taking the over on points for either Creighton or San Diego St., probably for the team you expect to win. Adding in either team to score more than 70 would boost the payout of this same-game parlay here big time.
