Xavier is in desperate need of a win today. Two losses in a row to Providence and Marquette (who are both quality teams in their own right) have put a damper on a great season. Creighton is coming off a loss as well, but on top of a less competitive season. The last time these two met at Xavier, the home team controlled the game and pace for the most part, which I expect they can do again. If they get close to the 8 point margin from last game, this cover is very much in play.
Texas Tech remains one of the toughest plays in the Big 12 despite a 5 loss record. But give the Raiders some credit for playing one of the toughest schedules so far. They deserve credit for close away losses at Baylor, Kansas and Iowa state. Tech has also come back and won against both those teams on the home court. All this to say they deserve more credit than they get, especially at home and against a Mississippi state team that really struggles away.
The best game of the weekend here with two true blue bloods. Kentucky visits Kansas who remains unbeaten at home. But they havenβt faced a team the caliber of Kentucky. More specifically, they have the firepower to keep up with Kansas offensively. The issue will be containing Agbaji who is coming off a scorching 37 point effort. But that double overtime game against Texas Tech is exactly why I like Kentucky. Off a long statement win theyβre due for a letdown. Fatigue is real for these young teams and though Kentucky is coming off an overtime game of their own, they donβt rely on one player like Kansas does. I see a big game for the supporting cast in Kentucky bringing them at least to a cover in this prime time matchup.
