Yet another article about a Hornets game. Waking up is always a little more exciting when Charlotte plays. Their games always have so much potential on either side and I found a spot I’d love to climb the ladder on in this one.
Centers dismantle the Hornets night in and night out so it is always worth a look to see who is roaming the paint against them. Of course tonight, Jarrett Allen will be that guy. I woke up wondering where they would set his rebound prop at, and I love the number we were given. Almost one month ago, Allen grabbed 22 rebounds on this very team. Granted, Lauri Markannen was out that night but his presence does not change Allen’s rebound numbers much throughout the season. I am looking for Jarrett to do something very similar tonight. Allen is one of the games strongest players on the glass. He is 8th in the league in rebound chances, so he certainly gets the volume required to hit his rebound prop tonight. Of the 15 players that average 10+ rebounds, Allen grabs the highest percentage of contested rebounds.
As far as his matchup is concerned, of all players that average 15+ rebound chances, Plumlee is second to last in rebound percentage. We are getting a little fancy here, but these are all ways of saying when a rebound goes up, there is a great chance Allen will come down with it. Charlotte also allows the most rebounds to the center position. They are 29th in rebounds allowed, offensive rebounds allowed, and defensive rebounds allowed.
