Buffalo Bills vs Kansas City Chiefs. YES! A familiar sight in recent years with these two consistently up there as the best teams in the AFC. Josh Allen vs Patrick Mahomes is always a joy to watch, and here we go again. In the Playoffs. And perhaps most importantly of all, in New York.
The last two postseason meetings have been at Arrowhead and have gone the way of the Chiefs – including that game almost two years to the day. A 42-36 overtime win to Kansas in which we witnessed greatness from two generational talents. Four lead changes, 25 points in the final two minutes and jaw-dropping stat lines from Allen and Mahomes. Run. It. Back.
Neither have hit those heights this year, yet they still extended their respective division-winning streaks. It’s now four in a row for the Bills and EIGHT for the Chiefs. The Bills overcame adversity, having to rattle off five in a row to topple the Dolphins after a middling start.
Then they overcame the elements, eventually, on Wildcard Weekend. The Buffalo blizzard finally slowed, and the Bills brought the heat. Steelers were out of sight in a flash with two Tight End touchdowns and a 52-yard rushing TD from the electric Allen.
Bills have won the last two meetings in Kansas, and now have home advantage against the Chiefs who have been a little out-of-sorts all season. But last week showed they still have plenty of quality, easing past the Dolphins in a cold one in Kansas.
Rookie Rashee Rice (we like saying that) had himself a game with 130 yards and a score, while Isaiah Pacheco got things going on the ground with 89 rushing yards and a touchdown. Mahomes added 41 yards on the ground and we can’t wait to see him and Allen demonstrate their dual threat once again on the big stage.
