SUBSCRIBE TODAYThe NFL Playoffs are officially set! My pre-season prediction was the Kansas City Chiefs to beat the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl. I also am sweating out a futures parlay that just needs the Bills to win the Super Bowl to cash. Honestly, that looks VERY good right now. However, we need to see what we have on the menu for these playoffs.
Fun Fact: Since 1980, every Super Bowl Winner has had a winning record through 6 weeks.
This means they must have gone 4-2, 5-1, or 6-0. I know this is just a random trend, but the fact that it has remained true for 40+ years always makes me wonder if it actually may hold some weight. If you look at the playoff teams that fit that criteria, you have the following:
This could very well be the story again for this year. I know it seems a little obvious that teams like the Chiefs, Bills, and Eagles would have easily been 4-2 or better through 6 weeks, but it helps narrow down the other good teams. Notice that the 49ers and Bengals are not on that list.
I do think that the Chiefs or Bills are going to make the Super Bowl and be favored if they get there, but the value right now stinks. Letβs make some fun bets here to get some value.
Side note: The Passing Yards leader has never won the Super Bowl in the same year. Patrick Mahomes was the passing yards leader this season.
First off, I do like the 49ers to come out of the NFC at +200. They are a system team with absolutely no holes anywhere. Do they have the most inexperienced QB in the playoffs? Yes, but all he has to do is protect the football and let the stacked team that he has make plays defensively and have the offense run all over opposing defenses.
The NFC is honestly extremely weak in my opinion. Jalen Hurts hasn't played in weeks and may not be 100% which is not how any team wants to enter the postseason. The Vikings are analytically the worst team in the playoffs via DVOA. The Bucs look awful at 8-9 and made the playoffs due to their division being the worst in the league. You honestly can't always trust the Cowboys in the playoffs either. If you are betting on the team in the best form that is the most complete team, it's the 49ers.
I also am fully committed to the Bills storyline. After the dramatic ending to the Chiefs/Bills Playoff game last year and the outcry from fans to change the overtime rules, they had revenge on their mind. If you pair that with the unfortunate circumstance that was the Damar Hamlin scare, it is almost impossible to root against them.
I am betting the Super Bowl Exact Result: Buffalo Bills over San Francisco 49ers +1300 on Draftkings.
