We have an interesting game between 2 very poor defenses. The Sehawks aren’t terrible at 17th ranked via DVOA, but the Raiders come in dead last in the league. The Seahawks are 6-4 and share possession of 1st place in the NFC West while the Raiders are 3-7 and show no signs of making the playoffs.
This Raiders defense has the worst ranked pass defense via DVOA and they give up the most receiving yards to running backs. We have Kenneth Walker III with a 14.5 receiving yard line. He has hit this in his last 2 weeks with 20 yards 2 weeks ago and 55 yards last week. It has only been 5 weeks since he has taken over the bulk of the carries and each week he is getting more and more comfortable, especially as a receiving back.
The Raiders have given up 15+ receiving yards to RB’s 7 straight weeks. Last week vs. Denver, Melvin Gordon had 5 catches for 39 yards and Latavius Murray had 4 catches for 23 yards. The week prior they gave up 16 yards to Jonathan Taylor. Jacksonville had Etienne get 17 yards on 2 catches. Kamara had 9 catches for 96 yards. Dameon Pierce had 4 catches for 25 yards and even Burkhead had 5 catches, but only for 11 yards in the same game. The Chiefs had Edwards-Helaire and McKinnon have 19 and 20 receiving yards. The bottom line is that the Raiders have allowed this number to a RB in 9 of 10 games and this is too low for me not to take, especially as Walker is trending up in the pass catching department.
