The Rangers have been letting Nathan Eovaldi go really deep into games on high pitch counts. He's thrown 104, 93, 113, 107, and 113 pitches in his last 5 games getting 27, 21, 26, 24, and 27 outs. He's only allowed a TOTAL of 4 earned runs in this time span and some of these teams have been really good at the plate. 3 of these games were away as well. He's going againstΒ an okay Tigers squad who he's had good pitcher/batter matchups against and who has been worse against right handed pitchers. Eovaldi has a very nice 1.66 road ERA and an even better 1.1 ERA in May.
He's been averaging 25 outs per game and I'm expecting at least 19+ from him today.
