His game log is a little deceiving this year. In 2023 he averaged about a 28% K rate and this year he's chillin right around 17%. He's faced a couple teams who don't K that much and was able to cover this line TWICE vs the Padres and once vs the Marlins. Today, he draws the easiest matchup of his season in the Pirates who are striking out 25% to right handed pitchers. EVERY SINGLE PIRATE is striking out at over a 20% clip to right handed pitchers and Hicks struck out 8 in 16 ABs vs them in his career.
He should thrive at this low line vs the Pirates at home.
