Capper Penguin's MLB Thursday Pick: Dodgers @ Diamondbacks - 4/6

In his second article of the day (check out his first one here) Capper Penguin turns his eye to the mound for this pitcher prop pick.

Merill Kelly has pitched once this year and coincidentally it was vs the Los Angeles Dodgers where he went for 3.2 innings allowing 0 earned runs with just 74 pitches. Before that he had only two Spring Training games where he threw just 34 and 43 pitches respectively. Fast forward to today, he should see about 90 pitches max instead of his normal 98-100 from last season when he was full strength.

Now in their first game the Dodgers didn’t score and he still only went 3.2 innings on 74 pitches. Imagine if he gets a few runs scored on him and more guys on base. Most of the Dodgers have cooked him in the past and after seeing them on opening day I’m expecting them to perform better. He’s only went more than 15 outs once in his last 5 games vs the Dodgers and I’m suppose to think he’ll go past it today on limited Spring Training? Give me the under.
