Capper Penguin's MLB Thursday Play of the Day: Mets @ Tigers - 5/4

Penguin is ready to take advantage of the weather and an elite pitching matchup in Detroit!

This pitching matchup will be ELITE between Justin Verlander, who will be making his first start for the Mets vs his old team, and Eduardo Rodriguez, who’s been in amazing form especially at home. Eduardo has only allowed 2 runs in his last 26.2 innings. He is having a great season and has good batter pitcher matchups. Verlander pitched 4.2 innings in his minor league rehab start where he didn't let up a run and should be on a pitch count of around 80. This is a big reason why I dropped the innings for the over/under down to 3. So we get his best stuff. Both teams have been hitting decently which is why I think the number is even at 2.5 instead of 1.5.

On top of all that the weather in Detroit is the worst for runs on the entire slate.
