The Mets NEED Luchessi to go deep in his matchup vs the Tigers after using basically they're whole bullpen yesterday in the double header. Especially after game 1 was a bullpen game. So we can assume that Luchessi should go deep even if he allows a few runs. He will be facing a Detroit team that strikes out much more often to left hand pitchers than righties. When the pitcher has gone 5+ innings this has hit every single game and here's how many times they struck out to left handed pitchers this year with at least 14 at bats: 7, 4, 5, 7, 9, 13, and 6.
Although Luchessi only recorded 3 strikeouts vs a tough strikeout lineup in Washington, he torched the strikeout prone Giants for 9 strikeouts in his first start. Expecting another nice outting vs Detroit who strikes out to lefties.
