Capper Penguin's Thursday MLB Pick - 9/1

This may not be a popular pick considering Kershaw is on the mound, but let me explain. In Kershaw’s last 3 starts he’s given up 11 runs in 13.2 IP. Kershaw is getting back from about a 3.5 week absence and Dave Roberts openly said he’ll only pitch about 4/5 innings max. Last time Kershaw returned from a similar mid season absence he gave 2 ER in 4.1 IP. Even with the extended rest from all star break Kershaw gave 4 ER in 4.1 IP to a worse hitting SFG team. On the other side, Chris Bassitt has been down trending in recent starts giving 4 ER to a struggling COL LG @ home. Bassitt has also gotten rocked L2 vs. LAD giving 4 runs in each start in 6 IP both starts. With the L6/8 H2H going over or tying this line I think we’re geared up for a lowkey exciting game.
