Colorado Rockies (37-48) at Arizona Diamondbacks (38-47)

Did you know the Arizona Diamondbacks are the #1 ranked offense vs. Right-Handed Pitchers (RHP) in the last 2 weeks (as measured by wRC+)? They’re quietly on the rise and have now scored 3+ runs off 6 of the last 7 RHPs they faced. That’s a trend I’m eager to ride in a juicy matchup vs. German Marquez today. Betting Marquez’ opponents to score 3+ runs is 13-2 in his last 15 starts and 5-1 in his last 6 visits to Chase Field.

I also like how Colorado’s offense matches up vs. Left-Handed Pitcher (LHP) Tyler Gilbert. The Rockies excel vs. LHPs, ranking 9th overall and in the last 2 weeks. You might recall that Gilbert tossed a miraculously fluky no-hitter in his first career start, but since then he’s been in free fall. His 6.86 ERA this year is bad, and his expected ERA calculated by MLB Statcast is almost a full-run worse (7.72). In 1 career start last year vs. Colorado, Gilbert was tagged for 9 hits and 4 runs in just 5 innings pitched.

Betting both teams to score (BTTS) 3+ runs is 5-1 in the last 6 Rockies/D’Backs matchups. Most books are pricing BTTS 3+ in the -130 to -150 range today, but you can get -115 at MGM (at time of writing). I laid the juice to win a unit and would bet this prop down to -130.
