@FastMoneyLabs’ Friday Night Parlay - 9/2

We’re targeting Prize Picks tonight since I’m in Washington DC! If tried to select bets that are available on traditional sportsbooks, too, but the lines might be different. Nonetheless, let’s get to it.

Leg 1: Alek Manoah (TOR) Over 6 Strikeouts vs. Pirates

The 2022 All Star eclipsed this number in three straight starts. He finished with 7+ strikeouts in all three, and whiffed 8+ in each of the last two.

If PrizePicks is looking to woo me on my trip to DC, they’re off to a great start. They’re currently hanging a flat 6 number on him, while most sportsbooks have him at 6.5 for tonight’s contest. I like the 6.5 number and would still take it there, but absolutely love the flat 6, which could settle as a push if he lands on it.

It’s an extremely plus matchup vs. a strikeout prone Pirates lineup. Roughly 1 out of every 4 of their plate appearances is resulting in strikeouts vs. RHP like Manoah.

13 of the last 16 (81.25%) RHP Pittsburgh faced covered their closing strikeout line, and I like Manoah’s chances to join that club tonight.

Leg 2: Charlie Morton (ATL) Over 7 Strikeouts vs. Marlins

The Braves’ crafty veteran is coming off a tough start vs. the Cardinals, but it was a tough matchup away from home.

At Truist Park in Atlanta where they play tonight, Morton’s been sensational. He’s limited opponents to just 2 earned runs in his last 25.1 innings pitched there, striking out 27 batters in that stretch.

His last 2 home matchups were particularly tough against the Astros and Mets, and he whiffed 12 and 11 batters, respectively, in those games.

He’s eclipsed this 7+ strikeouts line in 7 of his last 8 home starts, finishing with 8+ in 5 of the 8. He finished Under vs. the Marlins earlier this season, but it was in Miami. Now back in the comfort of his own home, I’m optimistic he can easily cover tonight.

The risk relates to weather, since there’s a chance of storms in Atlanta tonight. It’s a risk I’m willing to take, but if you’re risk averse, consider waiting to lock this in until the weather forecast becomes clearer.

Leg 3: Jordan Montgomery Over 16.5 Pitching Outs vs. CHC

This line feels low, and I understand why. The weather forecast stinks in Chicago tonight. But according to RotoGrinders.com, it’s likely they’ll be able to play through. This line is also tugging towards 17.5 at most sportsbooks, which makes me comfortable backing it at 16.5.

Montgomery owns the Cubs. He tossed a 9 inning, 1 hit gem in their last matchup earlier this month. They’ve yet to score a run against him in 2 matchups this season. He covered this 16.5 line in both games and in 3 of 5 overall since joining the Cardinals, with the only misses being tough matchups vs. Yankees and Braves.

Fingers crossed that storms hold off, and he should cover this number fairly easily tonight.
