@KeepTheJuice21 Home Run Parlay & Pick - 6/23

Houston Astros (43-25) @ New York Yankees (51-18)

The Yankees and Astros are starting the best ongoing series tonight with two extremely hot teams and no shortage of bad blood. The difference between Valdez and Taillon is slight, with a small edge going to Taillon but nothing to tip a pick. Beyond the starters you won’t find much value either, with Houston and New York having the two best bullpens in the league.

So who’s bats can you trust tonight? No doubt the Houston lineup can hit, but in this great streak they’ve had, I’m not totally convinced in the opponents. Before facing the Mets for two games, the previous 9 series (27 games) were against teams with a record under .500. Meanwhile, in the Yankees last 5 series have seen the Rays twice, Blue Jays, Cubs and Twins, and only lost 3 games of the 15. The Astros haven’t been facing teams like the Yankees and now finally playing at home after a 6 game stretch, the Bombers should be at a strong advantage.

Home Run Parlay

I’ve avoided picking Yankees for the parlay for long enough. The value just typically isn’t there (similar story with the Dodgers). But tonight coming home to a hitters ballpark there are a few hitters who should have a great chance. Judge hit two last night and is as prone as anyone to streaks. There isn’t much history between Judge and Valdez but no one has scared the big hitter this year so I wouldn’t expect anything different tonight.

If you haven’t given the Orioles much credit yet this year, now might be a good time to take a look. They are creeping into the wild card conversation and have a consistently good top half of the lineup. One of the best this year has been Anthony Santander, who has hit 13 home runs this year. As a switch hitter he’ll likely bat left against Johnny Cueto tonight who has not been very consistent himself. A great combination for Santander to go yard.
