It’s so close I can taste it. We hit the harder leg of the parlay yesterday, today we’ve got an even better duo. Lets kick it off with one of the hottest power hitters in the league, Randy Arozarena. He’s hit 4 home runs in his last 7 games and against some difficult pitching. Tonight he’ll have a kinder matchup with whoever the Royals trot out, which is still undecided. But none of the starting staff is a scary matchup. He returns home to where he knows the park best tonight and will have a great chance.

The Yankees got back on track in a huge way with a walk-off grand slam in extra innings last night from Josh Donaldson. But they never would have had the opportunity without a solo bomb from Rizzo in the bottom of the 8th to tie things up. Rizzo was also on base to score for that final hit. The vet has a great matchup tonight against Jose Berrios, one of the most home run prone pitchers in the league. He’s also got the platoon advantage and a very kind right field wall. What more could you ask for?

What a prime-time matchup we have tonight. Jacob deGrom hasn’t missed a beat in his return, already looking like the best pitcher in the league. Max Fried is as good an opponent as he’ll face though and with a whole season to prove the stats. The storied rivalry is at it’s best when both teams are at the top of the league and that is definitely the case tonight.

If this under makes you nervous it’s understandable – both offenses are top class and have averaged 11.7 runs per game in the series so far. But tonight aims to be different. 25 of the 35 total runs have come from the Braves and they’ll face their hardest test yet in deGrom. They were able to hit Scherzer but this Braves roster knows Scherzer intimately, facing him for the 3rd time in 5 weeks and plenty of times during his Washington tenure. DeGrom is a different beast. The Mets bats have actually slowed, only seeing success in the last matchup. Fried is the best Atlanta has to offer and will keep them on their toes. The total should stay close to or under 5 tonight by my model.
